On the Art of Hairstyling: Hairstyling is a true passion of mine. Like any passion in life, when it becomes part of you, every day is creative, enjoyable and artistic. Most Important Tool: The ability to listen. If I didn't listen to my clients I would be blindly implementing my own ideas. A good hairstylist listens to and interprets the client's desires, creating a unique style tailored just for them. Stylist Tip: To fix any stubborn cowlicks in the bangs, remember that pressure is key. While drying, apply a small amount of pressure with your finger to the area of concern in the direction you want the hair to lay. When this technique is mastered cowlicks will be tamed from then on.

On the Art of Hairstyling: "Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art."—Ralph Waldo Emerson. I sincerely believe that everyone deserves to feel beautiful and to be the best version of themselves. Creative Influence: Nature is one of by biggest influences. I love the colors that can be found in nature and the curves of drama. I am also inspired by theatre and the influence it has on hair trends, whether it's fantasy or reality, on stage or screen. Most Important Tool: The imagination. Favorite Feature: The eyes—and hair is absolutely more than just a decoration for those windows! Stylist Tip: Don't be afraid! You would be surprised with the outcome if you tried something different.

On the Art of Hairstyling: Many of my guests ask me if I can come home with them and be their personal hairdresser and do their hair every morning. No, we show you, the client, how to recreate what we do in the salon. You become your own personal hairdresser at home. Creative Influence: Paul (Ceril) Mitchell, Vidal Sassoon, Katashi Kitamura. Favorite Paul Mitchell Product: Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratriplex Treatment. It repairs years worth of damage in just fifteen minutes! Stylist Tip: Always listen to your hairdresser!

Creative Influence: My influences are infinite. I'm drawn to beauty, and I believe everything around us is beautiful. Even in the darkest of places there is beauty to be found, you just have to bring it out. Favorite Paul Mitchell Product: Spray Wax! Favorite Feature: I love working with all different face shapes and features. However, my absolute favorite thing is change! I love when I get to make a brunette a blonde, or a blonde a red-head. Anything drastic is always my favorite. Stylist Tip: When you're detangling your hair after a shower, don't use a brush! Get a big wide-toothed nylon comb and comb it out from the bottom up. Otherwise you're just ripping hair out.

On the Art of Hairstyling: To me, the art of hairstyling is playing on emotions to tell a story whether it be for a fashion show or for every day. The art is also an accessory that adds to the overall details of the story that is being told. It compliments, not overshadows. Most Important Tools: Make-up brushes and shears. Favorite Paul Mitchell Product: Spray Wax. Stylist Tip: Take what feels comfortable and tweak it by experimenting with color or texture—nothing is permanent!

On the Art of Photography: Photography is an overwhelming passion of mine which I live for every day. To create beauty in what is real, to produce a conundrum of euphoria, to be overwhelmed by the kindred spirit you will find within my images, this is what is. Creative Influence: I am constantly inspired by the plethora of magazines, blogs and the everyday bustle that surrounds me visually. Most Important Tool: My eyes, several film cameras, wireless remote shutters and flashes. Favorite Photographer: I've always been a fan of Richard Avedon. I feel in love with not only his style, but in the way his portraits convey the inner soul of the person he's photographing. Photographer Tip: Never follow the crowd, find your style and stick to it.

On the Art of Design: Design is the place where art and reason meet. To be memorable is what I call success. Creative Influence: I am inspired by history, textiles, and patterns found in nature and man-made objects. I love structure and minimalism yet love abundance which is the opposite spectrum. I prefer to walk a line between the two. Favorite Medium: My greatest joy in design comes from combining the mediums of fashion, graphic design, art and technology. Words to Live by: In the famous words of Albert Einstein, "imagination is more important than knowledge." The desire and drive to create something will lead you to the know-how.
